A studio like Rocksteady or WB Montreal probably have very little say in what their next project is. Its whatever warner/discover wants next that dictates what they work on.

And from the way they talk sounds like its the studios choice, because they love the IP. Not Sony stepping in and telling them cash is on the table.

The franchise being successful just means they get a bigger budget when they eventually go back to it
