Rodent and bug free living in NYC, Impossible? - Page 2

:whoa: I know lipstick alley is a terrible site but this shh caught my eye. Peep the responses and how desensitized New Yorkers are to the fact they live amongst rodents and roaches. This shh had me :what: face.

You mean to tell me it's not random to see rats and mice throughout your crib?

You mean to tell me cockroaches play double dutch under the sofa?

Bed Bugs in Hotels? :what:

Dont really have a problem since patched up my apartment with puddy. The rat problem was so serious, i woke up one day years ago and found 3 rats running around in my living room. Roaches arent so much a problem as they are annoying. When my son was born. I puddied up the whole apartment and havent seen a rat since.

It really depends on the area itsself. However rats are all over the fukking place. The trains
restaurants. Go to Atlantic ave and you'll c atleast 2, looking like they playing tag. Roaches are whatever. They deep out here as well. Never been to a apartment without seeing one

I'm moving. I remember as a kid seeing one spider in my room meant I wasn't sleeping in that joint for a good two weeks even if I killed it.

A rat? :ninja2:
Extermination only works good for a certain amount of time. We got a really expensive exterminator to kill off all the roaches in our house. We were without roaches for over two years, and after the two years passed... Roaches came up again. =/

You have to seal up all the holes in the floors and ceilings. And that's just the start. Then you need a monthly exterminator for the bugs and a good cat for the mice.

The whole infrastructure is infested and not everybody is fighting them at the same time so the bugs and mice just go next door and wait you out.

Actually, a lot of people don't mind living with mice and roaches. Half the people in my mother's building never let the exterminator in for anything.

The bed bugs haven't found my neighborhood tasty yet. This epidemic sounds to me like they were imported in from somewhere. I'd never heard of so much trouble before. The exterminator companies are loving it.

What kind of Caveman ass post is this, NY is well known throughout history for being dirty as fukk

exterminators come on a mandatory weekly basis, so i hardly see roaches, it was way worse growing up in the 90s

Yes they're dirty, and the city has a stench.

Some try to blame it on the population density, which has some merit...but Chicago and Toronto show us that there's no reason for them to be that dirty

Pest Control: Well yeah that's a good thing.

LOL I was outside a bar in San Diego flicking cigarette butts onto the street people looking at me all crazy :russ:

Yeh man you can't be doing that type of stuff. :skip:

Is that type of behavior normal in New York though? I've been just about everywhere. Passport stamped up, but never to NY :smh:

Yeah, unfortunately. There are cigarette butt dispensers around but everyone ignores them for some reason :manny:

I consider myself a clean person though, my crib is immaculate. I'm not a litterbug either, I don't throw empty bottles and wrappers onto the street but you know, different people have different standards. I also spit a lot in public :pacspit: which surprises a lot of people outta town for some reason.
