They didn't but you can take liberties when you're extrapolating backwards and creating backstory

When I had saw Movie Pics looked ehh to me and I hate tron guy but trailer got me interested , reminds me of the way pirates of the Caribbean . Heard the idea and was like Ehh but this looks very interesting

I've watched about 40 minutes of this as background noise this morning, and i can say without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the 20 worst movies I've ever seen.
