NFL should just get rid of TNF all together. Amazon should try to get the Sunday Ticket Package if they are trying to get more into the streaming service.

They should, but they won't because they want the money and exposure that comes with broadcasting their games. Unfortunately, nobody wants it at its current cost even if the ratings would be higher than what they'd usually broadcast on Thursday nights.

I’m surprised they aren’t trying to make a MNF doubleheader a permanent weekly thing. I feel the teams would rather deal with a potential 5 pm Monday afternoon game than TNF. I would think the TV networks would want that too, obviously NFL Network would need to factored in as well.

The potential problem comes in that ESPN currently pays more for their contract with the NFL than NBC does. Granted ESPN gets all of the NFL highlights, but they don't get to pick the games that they are given. So if you make MNF a doubleheader, then you're taking games away from someone else just to satisfy whoever gets the MNF games.

Somebody is going to have to come in with the godfather of all offers to pry those marquee games away from NBC lol. Amazon has the money to do it, so I don't see why they won't throw their hat in the ring. They seem to want the NFL games to stream, but want someone to foot the bill in production lol.

I don't want to watch 2 games on Monday Night. The one game they have been putting on the last few years has been bad enough.

Just go back to what used to work. Have almost every game played on Sunday afternoon. One game on Sunday Night. And one game on Monday Night. Anything more is just excess and will hurt the product. We've seen in recent years that the NFL's ratings plateau and decline. The era of every increasing ratings for the NFL look over. And I think oversaturation is the main culprit.

I was thinking NBC, FOX, CBS, or ESPN bid on that 5 pm MNF slot like they did for TNF back in 2017. Also I read that NFL was considering flexing MNF games if Disney moved MNF to ABC so idk.

I think NBC is keeping SNF especially since they killed off NBCSN. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if NBC lets NHL go as a result if they have to overpay to keep it.

I'm surprised that Disney is letting ESPN throw the bag and increase the prices paid for sports rights seeing as how Disney itself has been cutting cost lately. They seem to be going all in on Disney+ since theaters and the parks haven't been at full capacity for over a year now. Even then, Disney+ has to be operating at an enormous loss as there's no way the production of those shows as well as the actors are coming cheap.

Another round of ESPN cuts has to be on the horizon especially since other sports rights are coming up in the next year or two.

One MNF game is fine. Just give ESPN the option to flex after a couple of weeks like NBC. Plus those 5PM afternoon games will sucks for both the east and west coast due to people still working or leaving home from their jobs.

I think that will happen as I think MNF will be a ABC/ESPN simulcast in next TV deal or NFL asks ESPN to put TNF on ESPN to help Amazon with production.

Flexing out of a whole day is basically making the schedule up as you go along. Without fans is one thing. With fans, it’s damn near impossible.

Move that Thursday night game to Tuesday night or a Monday night double header. They need to bush Thursday night period:hhh:

If that happened then they might as well throw fox and CBS in the bushes.
So many people got Prime already and its accessible to everyone everywhere:wow:
That’s what I’m wondering. Giving Sunday Ticket to Prime members who are already subscribed with no extra work for subscribers to do would be unbelievable. But does it come with an eventual price hike? I’m in either way.

Wonder who will help Amazon produce that TNF game if they get it.

ESPN/Disney better come out winning somehow in this deal if they’re gonna keep MNF...especially after paying annually double what the others have paid for the last 15 years and getting lackluster game scheduling...and getting fukked over by the introduction of TNF.
