What was your experience like? How bad is the 'cism? Good/bad night life? Appreciate any info

My wife is from there. Its a small industrial/fishing town. Very high Portuguese and Cape Verdean community. Nightlife you'll want to go to Providence, R.I. (45 minutes) or Boston,Ma (1 hour). Most people who live there grew up there. Very blue collar. I can't speak on the racism aspect of it, but its not the south, so the racism might not be so overt, but there could be an undertone of it if you're not CV or Portugee. There is also a high concentration of drug addiction, mainly heroin, but drugs are everywhere in this country, so grain of salt.

Alot of my fam is from there. We have our family reunions there. It can be a violent city. The dimes are plentiful and the people are hard working. The women can be fast but cv's know how to have a good time. Nice beach. Theres not much to it.

new bedford is a dump breh.....literally smells like fish all the time there.....real high CV population...like mowgli said providence or boston is your best bet for nightlife

Its a dump. If ur moving to Mass anything 30 minutes outside of Boston sucks.

Boston is straight bro. Don't believe the hype.I been here since 95 and married a Greek girl . Job market is always healthy. From NB you can go Clubbing in Providence and Boston, Cape in the Summer. CV girls .
