While it’s a promotion with which he has a long history, I did not have Dragon Gate - a Japanese indie focused on super juniors (aka cruiserweights) - as the first landing spot for Neville post-WWE.

But here we are...

Returning to his old moniker PAC, the British high-flier emerged a year after reportedly walking out of WWE last October to join the heel RED stable as Eita’s mystery partner. While there’s no word on how long he’s committed to working with the promotion he wrestled for for five years before heading to NXT, Dragon Gate has already announced his next appearance in November.

In addition to being the first we’ve seen of him in a year, the appearance comes a week after a report he’d stopped responding to promoter’s inquiries. Was that simply because of his deal with Dragon Gate? Part of a larger plan?

We’ll be following along and keep you up to date, Cagesiders. For now, PAC is back!

Don't know why Dragon Gate wasn't a top option for that reporter, given that it was his main promotion pre-WWE.

DG REALLY needs him right now, though...
Probably because to some it would seem like a step back for dude. He could've probably secured a strong spot in a currently bigger promotion, plus if he won some titles elsewhere (say NJPW or ROH) it would pad his resume too. Still, you can't go wrong with good ol' fashioned loyalty.

Thought for sure hed freelance and Gedo would do Osperay/Pac for Wrestle Kingdom but yeah this is a needes shot in the arm for DG

Not sure Gedo would want that, isn't the plan for Ospray to be a heavyweight next year? If he's gonna have a "graduation" match at WK, it should be against a heavy or a big rival at Jr.

And I'm sure that match will happen eventually either in the UK or a show like All In 2.

Right. I doubt NJPW would give a one-off to PAC. Especially, they have been teasing Ospreay vs Ibushi for a while. I think that what Gedo planning for at WK.

True but idk who on the roster hed have that match with. Would Takahashi be back in time? Marty again? Zack (how is he of all people considered a heavyweight?!)? Ibushi? Rocky? Plus i doubt Pac would be a one off. I see him with Jay White in some weird evil cac stable.

I disagree, New Japan doesn't need PAC right unless he'd be booked as a Jr. and that has a ceiling I don't see PAC being too happy with after 6-8 months in the company. The heavy division is clogged to hell and Gedo can barely handle 1 or 2 stories at a time.

As SubZero said, it seems the direction right now is for Ibushi -another Jr who was mostly known for his flippy stuff that graduated to heavyweight - to face Ospray at WK. It makes sense to me at least :manny:
