People have heard of the 2008 film of the same title and considered it a lame excuse of a MMA movie, so in 2011 MLW got a deal to reboot the film in Never Back Down 2: The beatdown with a new character named Case Walker. Though Case was a supporting role in 2, Jai leads in the 3rd film as the same character. In this film is based in Thailand where many cameos and small roles of well known Asian actors like Tony Jaa and Jeeja Yanin( Chocolate) to be featured. This is a fun film for a boring Friday/ Saturday night and brings some funny ass scenes in the movie for comedy. Obviously MJW has some comedic talent as well.

We don't really need to rely on Hollywood..
no but movie makers rely on investors, equipment, studios and expert tech geeks for cinematography and vfx. Those are limited resources and if you can't get those people to work with you then you can't make the highest quality movies no matter how many talented/successful actors you put in a room.

Imagine if you wanted to shoot a black film based on the moors or mansa musa. You have to be able to get access to certain areas. costumes and weaponry, plus you're going to need a green room to shoot in and the techs to make it look real. Try renting out a castle in france or england to shoot a black film and you'll find out white supremacy has a monopoly on movie productions.

I haven't gotten around to watching this yet.

White's hustle has been making sequels to lackluster movies/franchises, and creating a product that far exceeds the original.
