I had one of my friends give me a guitar melody to run with chop and sample. Im still trying to find out what to do with the hook and was wondering if I should keep that switch up around 3:08. Its technically done but those 2 things have always had me wondering if there is something I could add on or change up on it.

delete the transition sequence at 1:22 and go directly into the one at 1:50 then let the beat ride out and fade out toward the end of the breakdown at 3:08

or delete the transition sequence at 1:22 and repeat what i would call the main sequence (the loop that starts at 00:28-00:54) then after that go into the sequence that starts at 1:50 then after that completes then into the breakdown at 3:08 and end up fading out one of the sequences that is just the drum pattern ie 2:42-3:08

those are just my opinions they might sound a little different and im thinking in terms of rapping over it. its def nice how it is and can be used.

I love this beat....I would believe that this is created with someone playing guitar and to me thats better than sampling or putting together a beat, although beats that are crafted can sound as natural as this. I have friends that play guitar and its always awesome to get some real music and be able to work with it.

I like that idea about the breakdown I think that part would fit in better than going back into the main sequence after 3:08. And that those suggestions about the changes to the transitions might actually work a little better ill have to see how it sounds after switching it up

And it is a real guitar my friend actually recorded 2 different melodies and layered them after recording. And yeah I agree about the realism of using a real instrument is definitely different from the standard sampling I usually do.

That track is nice family! In my humble opinion, 3:08 should be the intro. Start subtle, then build to the finale. Its gotta tell a story.

Then add the hook in. I would make that the guitar part with the loudest dynamic.

So the hook could be the the guitar loop from 0:20-27(with the drums of course) and loop for 8 bars.

The verse could be 0:27 to 0:33 how you have it. I would loop that for 16 bars.

Add maybe sound effects to give it a feel of change, or play with the filtered guitar I think could be the intro.

Regardless its a dope beat.
