Customization
Need for Speed is all about personalization, self-expression and playing the way you want - and Heat offers many ways to customize your personal experience.
Tweak your cars Engine, Chassis, Drivetrain and Auxiliary to suit your driving style: Road, Off-Road, Drift or Race. Need an extra bit of power? Upgrade the turbo. Want to upgrade your off-road ride? Better replace that suspension. The choice is yours.
- Performance customization
Some will say that a car’s looks are as important as its performance. Who are we kidding, of course they are. Go wild with body customization, paint & wrap, go faster stripes, tire smoke, underglow and more. Make a statement.
- Visual customization
For the first time in Need for Speed, you can customize your character and show off your clothing style. We’ve been working with a variety of lifestyle brands to bring their fashion into the game, so you can dress your avatar just the way you want.
- Character customization
Not only can you swap engines and upgrade their performance, but you can also adjust their sound to your liking. Want to match the sound and the aggressive livery? Just make it so.
- Engine sound customization
Characters
Need for Speed always had a strong focus on the story, and Heat is no different. The duality of day and night is supported by two of the main characters.
When you first hit the road, you’ll meet Ana. She’ll show you around Palm City at night, while her brother Lucas is taking care of your car in the family garage and will send you on daytime missions. Unfortunately, not everyone gives you a warm welcome.
Soon enough, you’ll find out who you’re up against. Meet Lieutenant Mercer, Officer Shaw and Officer Torres, representing the Palm City PD that want to get rid of illegal street racers once and for all. In the middle of it all: You. This time around, you can choose your character from a set of avatars and customize your outfit to reflect your personality. You’re no longer a silent observer, but involved in the dialogues and the story, bringing the story closer to you.
Soundtrack
Palm City stands for urban vibes, neon lights, and a place where cultures mix. The music is no different, showcasing a wide spectrum of artists and genres that reflect the vibrant setting. We’ve handpicked every song, some will make you want to just cruise around and discover the map, while others will pump you up for that High Heat race at night.
