However Necro is a Hip Hop great. Consistently dope albums, sober for years, incredible music, big shows, world tour. All independently. His music. His way. He could very well be the greatest independent rapper of all time.

Can you expound on what you mean by “greatest independent rapper of all time”? Do you actually mean to say he’s YOUR favourite indy rapper? Because in terms of success he’s nowhere near close, in terms of talent (while somewhat subjective) he’s light years behind literally hundreds, in terms of impact and influence he has no room to form an argument towards being one of the greats...so I really wonder what type of criteria you are using to form this opinion?

I was never a fan outside of a couple tracks and beats, but what REALLY made me go "hell nah" was when he did the joint album with G Rap. Seeing him dominate joint interviews and speak as if he was a mutual peer to one of the greatest rappers of all time was weird. Dude was basically trying to son G Rap.

I disagree with you on this because Necro in my eyes is an example of someone who has a highly attuned knowledge of self. Why?
- created several albums including team albums
- works his passion to profit
- is a real part of 90s rap culture
- is well respected by actually respected emcees

Thats not surprising to me, I remember when Talib Kweli was getting into it with Remedy about race and politics (white rapper loosely affiliated with Wu for a bit) and R.A. was caping for Remedy hard asking Talib to get along with him.
