This shyt is not bad but we aint come here expecting experimental flows on trap beats Nas, thats what KD series is for. Magic series supposed to be a return to rare form, which it was in some places. Slow It Down for example. But even the experimental shyt his flows on point as fukk, he's finding the pockets in these beats in ways hes never rapped before and I love that cause I remember the main criticism against him when I was a kid (I got into Nas around Stillmatic/Gods Son era and then went back) was that he aint have no flow compared to Jay, that he literally had the worst flow on the whole fukking song in Oochie Wally. Idk I cant say this is bad its just unexpected as fukk. Bizarre beats reminiscent of Salaam Remi days lol I respect it for that tho, Ill take the best tracks off here and just add it to my Nas playlist rather than pretend its groundbreaking but he is undoubtedly the nicest 50 year old rapper in the world idgaf who thinks different

One thing I do wish is that they promoted these projects a little harder with some additional marketing assets … like it’s pretty unprecedented that Nas is collaborating with a single producer this much ..never has happened in his career … it feels like they should be doing Hitboy&Nas tour dates / Documentaries / Interviews and just more overall content around it …idk maybe they don’t care but just feels like the moments should feel a little bigger when these two drop considering the uniqueness of the situations

I think its partly because Nas has so much other shyt going on, when him and Hit link up they put aside as much time as possible and that time is for the MUSIC then they gotta do they’re own shyt. Remember Nas was so busy with the Wu tour last year he had to fly Hit Boy out on several dates so they could finish KD3. Now also keep in mind that Nas directed and produced TWO documentaries last year. Plus all the stuff he does with Hennessey. The man is busy as fukk.

Never understood the love affair with Magic 1…shyt was boring to me. This is a decent album. Something to listen to for the weekend but nothing mind blowing. I love Nas going to see him in September at Barclays but seriously at this point we don’t need anymore Hit projects

Wow people turn on you quick

Hit Boy has made the last few years Nas’ best era after the 94-02 peak.

First time I've seen a Nas album recieved worse on this site than anywhere else.:pachaha:

Might have to do with how Coli receives some Nas albums though. Even here we have a decent amount of folks putting KD and KDII ahead of Magic and KDIII, and I don't usually see that everywhere else.

The 50 appearance reminded me of when he showed up randomly on the title track on "Encore". Just shows up says some random bars and bounces, leaving me wondering why he even bothered to show up.:troll: Nas cleaned up nicely though, so track is still 🔥.
I thought the Nasir reactions were way worse.
Most of the opinions on here range from great to ehhh.

I saw a few tweets saying that he finally killed the double time flow, but I’m confused because Nas has a TON of good songs where he uses that flow
He sounds the best he’s ever sounded using it on this album tho 💯…I still don’t like it tho lol, I just don’t wanna hear him rapping like that. But he sounds much more in pocket with it now
