By his own perspective I think Nas wants someone who’s gonna push him to try new flows and new sounds while also keeping it traditional. Him and Al definitely cooked in the God’s Son sessions but I think sonically that stuff has been matched

I’m not against him and Alchemist on a whole album together but I don’t know if it’s gonna be that different than what Hit does when he does his impression and I could see Nas being a bit bored over it

Like I know some people are gonna have mixed feelings over Nas rapping on a Memphis beat on this but that’s what I mean. Is Al gonna give him left field shyt to inspire him

There isn't anything that Alchemist tries to do, that doesn't work though. He can do a lot of different sh*t. Gibbs can flow crazy and skip over beats with the best of them, and we saw what ALC did with him on Alfredo. That's what I meant by the top-tier producers. They can carry whole albums flawlessly, but cater to mad different kinds of MC's.

I don't think anything on this joint is left-field, at all. It's kinda just the lane we see other people in today, but just new for Nas. Which is more like taking an older MC and trying to get him to do what MC's younger than him are doing. Nas is too dope for that. Which is why I think inspiration for him, should come from someone letting him just be himself, but just over way better production. Nas has never sounded comfortable switching his sh*t up to do what other people are doing, lol.

Al is gonna give him some left field shyt in a different way. Like some obscure shyt. Life for instance. What he gave Roc Marci for Saw. But the problem is. I feel like these same people wouldn’t appreciate that type of shyt for Nas either. People need to come to terms that they just like to hear Nas over more traditional boom bap shyt and just call it a day. It's not about being a Nas fan and not being able to criticize him. It’s that nikkas been unfairly trying to pigeonhole son since his second album. The fact that IWW was met with any type of resistance is mind boggling as fukk. Issue is it’s not consistent criticism with everyone. Like. Some of them same people would tell u with a straight face LAD is the greatest hip hop album of all time. lol. That shyt got straight up disco flips on it. lol.

People wouldn’t appreciate Nas rapping over the “different” Al beats tho. If it ain’t a bunch of Keep It Thoros and We Gonna Make It’s nikkas gonna have something to say about that too. For instance. Nas wouldn’t have been able to drop Alfredo.

Off first listen I LOVE this album. IMO it's much better than KD1 but it's not as good as the other 3 which is a ridiculously high bar. Hit and Nas can do no wrong in my book I could listen to them cook up tracks for another 5 albums and it would never get old to me Hit Boy is too versatile to get stale and Nas the GOAT. I'm about to go in again let's go Esco

that’s the purpose to be a completely different sound.
Magic was released in the winter dark sound
Magic 2 released in summer a more vibe sound

Sh*t, I would. LOL!!

Most of the sh*t I hear Al doing with other people, is the kinda sh*t I would love for Nas to be doing. Soulful beats that knock. ALC has evolved since "Keep It Thoro" and "We Gonna Make It". Dude's music is much better than it was 20+ years ago. I saw him in a session not too long ago, and when he cooks something up, the whole room goes crazy. Rappers have to battle for his beats, most of the time. That's the level he's working on today. Which is why so many people want him to do their whole project.

He knows who to give which tracks to. So I think he's easily a dope choice for Nas. I don’t see how people wouldn't like that. I can't remember the last time ALC missed on anything he dropped. No one's been more consistent on the beats than he has, in mad long.

It feels like they got too comfortable...
It's like Steph Curry hitting 4 straight 3s and on the 5th shot he attempts an half court shot lol
Yeah I can even feel it in Nas' voice, I've heard it before.. There's a few moments where he gets back to "normal" like on Slow it Down or a couple other verses, but globally he's sounding different, like on some of the bad moments of his career 😔
