Always amazes me how Nas drops street music as his singles. He might actually have a song on the album that could potentially do well via radio at least back then, but he'd drop a street joint with a video at that.
Nas really ain't supposed to be as commercially successful as he is today, outside of a single or two he never really tried to reach the pop crowd

breh kinda got lucky, one of the rare instances where someone actually reaps rewards simply for being talented

The last Nas single I felt...well...Thief’s Theme was dope too

Coming off the heels of The Jigga shyt when you heard this you thought the album was going to be SOME shyt...sadly it was just ok

Thats always been his strategy since I Am. Drop the “street” single (Nas Is Like, Got Yourself A Gun, Made You Look, Thiefs Theme, Hip Hop Is Dead, Be A ****** Too, Nasty) followed by the proper “mainstream” single (Hate Me Now, One Mic, I Can, Bridging The Gap, Hero, Daughters/Cherry Wine)
