thought u'd never ask. :obama:

unfortunately, there hasnt been 5 albums in the past five years that warrant being typed out. if u'd allow me to include all projects (not just physical releases), i can probably push out a top 5.

favorite releases since 07 in no order off the top of my head:

black milk- album of the year (borderline)
diamond district- in the ruff
the roots- how i got over
cormega- born and raised (borderline)
currensy- covert coup
big krit- return of 4eva
currensy- weekend at burnies
currensy- pt1 and pt2 (combined as one if thats ok :smugfavre:)
j cole- the warm up
jay-z- blueprint 3
kid cudi- man on the moon (borderline)
wiz khalifa- k&oj
currensy- stoned immaculate
wiz khalifa- taylor allderdice
common- finding forever
elzhi- elmatic :mjpls:
sean price- jesus price superstar
kendrick lamar- section 80
yU- the earn
skyzoo- the salvation
------------
if youre wondering whether some dude tossed around no limit and cash money for years named currensy is better to me than the guy who put out the best hip hop album in history named nas since 07, the answer is yes.

and if youre wonderin if a detroit rapper's rendition of nas' classic album, illmatic, is better to me than life is good itself (at this point 3 days since leak), the answer is yes.

due to sheer volume released from Pittsburgh Wiz, id probably be forced to put even him ahead of nas since 07 :lolbron:

-----------
thats how it is here in 2012. if you wanna know who i'd like to see puttin out quality today, it'd be nas over all of these newcomers of course. but its just not happenin.

and im not gonna salivate over nas' most newest shyt just cuz its a nas album in 2012 with no id/large pro production and crown it best album of the year just because i want him to come out with some top of the line no doubt about it classic. you guys are settling.:smugdraper: its too late for that. this album is like a fukkin english muffin sittin there on the table to me all stale with no jelly or butter. :pachaha:

Just so I'm clear, you believe that Blueprint 3 is a better album than Life Is Good, correct?

anyone finding tracks that they're skipping on the regular?

the Don, Cherry wine, and Bye Baby are the only tracks I'll pass over. Pretty much everything else is warranting a listen from start to finish. I can't remember an album with such minimal filler.

Favorite back to back tracks = a queen's story into Accident Murderers. Queen's story slowly builds up to a powerful final verse with that beat switch that just turns into the perfect lead-in to one of my favorite productions on the album.

Looking forward to supporting next week

Just the singles for me. I skip The Don, Nasty, and Daughters because I've heard them so much already. Everything else is new so I don't skip. Totally agree with Queens Story/Accident Murderers transition. I think the fact he spits the AM hook on the last verse of QS makes is flow so ill.

The only track I wasn't feelin' at first was A Queens Story.

I feel like Nas had a little too much energy on it or somethin', im not sure. That worked on a lot of songs.

It's mostly the ever-changing beat though.. takes longest to grow on you.

But Nas spits some of his best shyt on that joint... so I'm ii with that.

I love how tracks that some people aren't feeling.. such as Cherry Wine and Bye Baby.. are other peoples favorite tracks.

I want to apologize to the god Nas for riding with jigger thru the beef way back...nikka Nas still dropping soulful and lyrically impressive music. Camel can attempt to do it but it doesnt come off the same way IMO

That's cause Camel has no soul.

Just sounded awkward to me at first, going with Nas' flow.

Was odd though cause even though i wasn't feelin it like that, I kept playin it over and over.. cause i knew it had to grow on me.

I prefer more mellow beats though. The instrumental change at the end is dope.

on the third verse of "Queens Story" he's kind of off beat for the first bar or two, that sh!t gets me madd amped, ha i'm sure they mixed his vocals off a little bit on purpose, sh!t was excellent. song makes me wanna listen to 'daytona 500' immediately after

A lot of the instrumentals on this album though have all kinds of sounds within them. A lot of shyt to take in.

Even during Nas' epic final verse on World's an Addiction, there's so much to listen to besides Nas.

Phenomenal production. Probably Nas' 2nd best produced album.
