Because Miles never made obvious sellout records :what:

Because Miles wanted to take the artform forward, instead of being stuck in the past :birdman:

Because Miles introduced an entire generation of jazz musicians to the world :comeon:

And no, Nas is not the best at his genre. Nas has just put out a great album. That doesn't mean he always puts out great albums, nor does it mean he's constantly reinventing himself. The success of this album comes from him looking to the past.

You want the Hip-Hop Miles Davis? Look no further than Kanye West - he incorporates genres of all kinds into his music and it's better for it. His music has evolved more in 8 years than Nas' has in 20.

Anyway, Life is Good is a great album, no question. Doesn't mean that you can crown Nas the minute it leaks. :rudy:

Kanye West?

Did this faggit just say that Hip-Hop is better cuz Kanye incorporates other genres into his music?
StarShips, are meant to fllllllllllllly too bruh. You should hop on one :hula:
808 & Heartbreaks is probably an all time great to you too :scusthov:
Real Talk, after that album dropped. I jive had Kanye on ignore for the most part.
He's good for a great grand opening single or three. But the rest of his shyt is garbage for the most part. Every new album gets more and more UNlistenable.
He does a duet album with Jigga, and that shyt was only average at best.
I'd take Jay-Z Original Gangster album over it :hula:
But my point it, even with arguably the best rapper alive... he still could only come out average at best.
One mans trash is...
1990s Polo Ralph Lauren on him

I'm a graphic classic song composer

Music notes on sheets, I wrote this piece to get closure."

Nas is stepping onto uncharted grounds being a 38 yr old rapper but still sounding cool while not hiding from his age. The next step will be to make an impact sales wise. That would mean that people are really in tune with what he did here. It seems to already be a critically acclaimed piece of work.

So after a few spins, the hype has calmed down.
4 mics. A great album, not a classic the weaker things is Nas often has problems riding the beats, no clear direction on a lot of songs just saying random shyt but not as good as random shyt rappers. Other than that it was a great ass album, Nas proves that he's still better than anyone that came in the game (besides who else ). Like Kobe getting the MVP next year. Lyrically dope, a cohesive effort not as cohesive as untitled but still dope, very fresh and very original. Some songs do get a little repetitive like The Don and Nasty, they get skipped cause what keeps one going back to tracks about nothing are often beats. And those beats are too headache.
