its the other way around

primo played some nas for tip and pete

they got inspiration and built on that with LL and common

what i herd from the nas and primo honestly shook me to the core of my foundation because i still cant comprehend what i experienced

best nas album i ever herd up front

You gotta reread what I said.

I'm talking about how he heard Pete's and Tip's sh*t back in the day and how that made him want to go make some new sh*t.

In relation to today, Premier and Questlove were the first people to hear what Common was doing with Pete, a minute ago. Primo said hearing Pete back on the SP-style tracks but "evolved" put the pressure on him. Tip and LL started working on that album 6-7 years ago. Premier wasn't working on anything Nas-related back then.

I've heard a good amount of songs for the new project, but I don’t know if anything is finalized on what's making it. And the reason I'm saying what I am about this, is because Premier isn't where Pete is right now on the beats. Pete is making better sh*t now. And I've known Preme forever, he's seeing the fanfare this Common joint is getting. That's driving him. But I don’t know if this is gonna be able to touch The Auditorium. Nas is my guy, but doing this at this stage of Premier's career is a little late, based on how his sh*t has been recently.

If Premier's able to tap into that same energy he had when he made One of the Best Yet, I think this will be a really good album. I wonder if Pete and Q-Tip were inspired by that album when they listened to it.

Anyway, do you have any information on what happened with Nasir? Kanye said for years that it was his dream to produce a Nas album and he treated it like an English paper that was due the next day. From my understanding, the album was made in a week, and some of the beats were produced after Nas recorded the songs, so that's why he sounds "off" at times. I remember the album not even being finished when it came out, because I didn't listen to it until Saturday. And the release party had multiple songs that weren't even mixed properly.

I know this was in the middle of Kanye's mental decline, but how do you give yourself months to work with Pusha T and Nas, your dream collaboration, only gets a week?

i read and understood clearly breh

6 or 7 years might be true but that pales in comparison to nas and preems decade plus on this project

as far as the music not sure what you heard but this body of work i heard was absolutely amazing and truly changed my outlook on rap

Yeah, the crazy thing about the Nasir album was that it seems like Kanye wasn't really respecting Nas's involvement and wishes. They ran through references and demos of mad songs, and Nas was doing what he was supposed to. But Kanye had another vision for certain things, but wasn't bringing Nas in on what he wanted to do. So he kept making changes to things and whole beats without letting Nas get back into the booth to refine his verses.

I always said that's why Nas sounds off or even uninspired on some of the joints. Kanye was looking at that project like a personal challenge that he wanted to accomplish for himself, but in my opinion, he wasn't showing Nas the respect he deserved from start to finish.

Preme is my GOAT, so I'm always super critical with his work.

The latest I got on the situation, was that he was back in the lab 24/7 trying to bring back that feeling. So I'm hoping he's able to dig in and just not worry about the outside noise with comparison and what's going on with other people's projects, and get back to where he was where he could work on whole albums and the sound-bed is just full of groundbreaking sh*t that doesn’t sound alike, but brings the best out of the MC. Nas is still Nas. He's forever on point. But I want to see how the production ends up on the final product.

Just came out the Paris show. The goat was masterful as always. I like the remixes he do on certain verses. I wished he had done more of the recent stuff like thun and reminisce. But I guess the illmatic stuff takes a lot of space.
He did we major again but wasn't really on point with the lyrics but hey lol.
Nothing new on the primo stuff tho
Yo I didn't go this time but am I wrong to think he was kinda sharper than usual on these vids? Usually he kinda lags behind the beat on NYSOM for example, last year he even totally fukked it up on the Wu show.

I dont know. Last time I saw him 2 years solo ago he was great too. He really improved his stage game.
I wished I came with a vinyl to sign but I don't have the heart no more to come hours in advance and stand in the front crowd

I can see Nas dropping it early next year instead of in December.
