Carlos Muñoz Portal, 37, was killed Monday night while checking out possible filming locations for the show, which has chronicled the stories of real-life drug king pins in Colombia. The series will next focus on Mexico's nortorious cartels.
Portal was found in his car with multiple gunshot wounds, but it is unclear where on his body or how many, according to Deadline.
