Just thought this would be a helpful community tool.

I use ableton and I have a few shortcuts I only recently learned about. In arrangement view it is possible to delete segments of TIME and everything in those segments. This becomes handy if you need to delete 4 bars quickly changing a 16 bar into a 4 bar verse. The short cut on Mac is cmmd+shift+delete.

If you want to duplicate time as well (duplicates AND inserts time so it doesn't override the rest of the beat). Highly useful if you made 12 bar verses and want to add an additional verse without trying to slide everything over and messing up the automation etc. just highlight the time segment and hit cmmd+shift+d. So awesome.

i would also like to point out that the A/B sends have the option to be changed from "pre" and "post" effect rack. Sometimes you want your A send to add reverb AFTER your effects chain (post) and sometimes you want it before (pre). It can be very useful!

Help others as needed!

Whichever program I'm running, I have my templates reloaded with what I usually to get the job done. Doing this saves me from setting up the program from the default settings every time. Then I can differentiate and change things from there.

I have a template for abeleton with my plugins already loaded and my knobs on my midi keyboard assigned.

I have utility uploaded on every track.

Helps with the mix in the end.

All about those templates.

Need to learn shortcuts though. I've just realized i'm somehow too lazy to learn them.
I mean.. what type of laziness do i suffer from :why:

I just recenlty learned that there is a DELAY feature to offset things by msec in the session view which is tight. it allows me to correct for delay if i'm recording in from a lagging microphone or add swing to drums. just click on the D on the right side of the screen to open up the options.

by adding Utility to the chain you can leave your channel volume alone while automating the utilities gain for changes in your mix. This maintains chained/linked effects and helps keep your channels organized. The stereo width field that allows you to place the audio in the mix in terms of where your brain thinks it's coming from and relative volume levels/mix. By decreasing to 0 you have made the channel mono and 200% is so wide the audio almost disappears as if it's behind you. Pull up a YouTube video for a better explanation.
