Discuss and post about athletes that you saw or heard that had this aura like greatness and stuff said about the athlete that is almost mythical. For instance, I always heard that Arvydas Sabonis would have been an all time great and a top 5 center because he could do it all and would have been like Dirk but better. Clyde Drexler said that the Blazers in the late 80s-early 90's would have won 3+ rings had Sabonis played in his prime. Also, I heard that Bill Walton could have been like KAreem and even as big like Shaq level on the commercial level of success. Name or talk about other athletes in sports.

-Kareem said that the GOAT basketball player was Earl Manigault.

his nickname is even "GOAT'.
-What's this I always heard that Len Bias was Jordan like?
-To me I thought that Ricky Rubio was a myth and would be an epic flop and bust in the NBA, but now I'm like :ooh: when he plays.
-Also, Drazen Petrovic always has this aura because they said that he would have easily been the GOAT Euro player ever in NBA history.
-Even though we never got to see, but I think Greg Oden would have been better than Dwight if he didn't have injury problems.
-Also isn't it true that Wilt had offers from a bunch of other NBA squad to play for them while he was 50 years old?
-Watching these highlights of Dajuan Wagner makes it seem like he would have been AI-like and would have been beasting with Bron in Cleveland. They said he dropped 100 points in high school.

-Remember back in the old WWF days, that dude Giant Gonzales? If you didn't know, the dude was drafted by the ATL Hawks in the 3rd round in 1988. They said he would have been a beast due to him being 7'3, but couldn't adapt to the physical demands of the NBA due to an knee injury.

off the top of my head:

Gotta go with Daisuke Matsusaka. Dudes in Boston were wildin when he first came over talking about this alleged "gyroball" pitch that he has. My boys were buying tshirt jerseys with matusaka in japanese and shyt :gladbron: :skip:

come to find out he never had this mythical pitch :usure: and can barely find the strike zone.

Manigault was particularly famous for his leaping abilities on the basketball court, including his signature move - the double dunk. He would dunk the ball, catch it with his left hand, switch the ball to his right hand, bring it back around to the top of the basket and jam it through again, all done while still in the air on a single jump, and without hanging on the rim.

:mindblown:

The Sabonis stories are believable because he actually balled in the NBA and put up numbers with them bad knees. I think he proly would have been the kryptonite to Shaq if he would have been here in his prime. Like 7'3 almost 300 pounds with a handle and a jumper with damn good athleticism. Would have loved to see him in his prime. And for the cats talking about Manigault i don't think he held a candle to the stories i have heard about Pee Wee Kirkland.
