not expecting no 5-star, classic thread piece here, as i vaguely post let alone start any threads in here. but i been blogging for 8 years my personal top 10 films every january. just throwing mine out there to gauge a wider audience, i did the same last year on :hamster:

anyway, love/hate/trolls all alike, feel free to toss your two cents or funny gifs, i expect amusement one way or the other, carry on...

Cool list with only one flick I would disagree with you on in the entire list. I left a comment on your blog.

yo, thanx for the feedback, as for les miz i completely understand your beef. musicals are a very dicy genre for most moviegoers (myself included), if i didnt love the music as much i did i more than likely would have hated it. bc no one wants to hear 3 hours of music they despise. and i enjoyed the story on top of that. but i kno many ppl that wont like it bc it is long. so your comment is expected. appreciate again

ATL to MEM
Im surprised Flight is so high. There is a good movie to be had in there but IMO they just went overboard with the drinking aspect. I mean we knew he was a drunk, they didnt have to spend every other minute on a shot of him with an increasing amount of booze. More time spent on how the alcohol was messing up his personal life would have done this movie a lot of good.

Without Denzel in that movie it wouldnt have been nearly as well received.

I would have had The Raid Redemption in there purely for the action and Lincoln for the acting.

i know its quite a long read, as i tend to ramble on these topics more n more every year i do em (this being my 8th), but if u read what i thought bout each one including Flight youll get where i was coming from on why i enjoyed it so much. Lincoln and Flight had the two most stellar actor performances of the year hands down. DDL will most likely run away with the oscar because well the academy loves them some DDL. but denzel any other year owns this award. his performance was so stellar so dark, i loved every minute of his downwhirl spiral. and i never saw the coke thing comin, i loved it more bc we have never seen denzel go so far down the rabbit hole lik that in a role before. and i agree he does carry that film, but so does DDL. i enjoyed Flights story more too. but thanks for ya feedback, appreciate it

Good look, you seen 7 Pscyhopaths?

i did, entertaining and somewhat funny. loved walken in the movie. liked in bruges much more, which is done by the same director. decent movie though. woody was halarious as well. felt like it had more potential to be great, but didnt. not a bad movie though. i see lotta movies, so narrowing em down to 10 is always the tough part. thats why i do the honorable mentions, but then even those i trim em down bc i dont want the blog to be so long no one wants to read it.

yeah, Im not hating on your list because of how hard it is to parse things down. Was just wondering if you saw it and how you felt about it.

It wasnt the best movie, but it was my favorite watch of 2012.

You get a dap from me for liking Project X also.

Cool list but no love for Ruby Sparks? Have you seen it?

came across the title back in the fall, didnt think bout it again since. i would watch it, director did little miss sunshine. kinda reminded me a bit of stranger than fiction when i read about it. wasnt a major movie on my radar but had i came across it on dvd rip or netflix id have watched. i assume you enjoyed it a great deal? i may have to look out for it

Yeah man, I watched it because the director of LMS and the mute teamed up again but I liked the premise. A writer whose character comes to life and becomes his woman? :leon: When I watched it, it surprised the hell out of me. It was a crazy movie and I enjoyed it more than what I've seen of Looper but different strokes.:ld:

I'd give it a shot if you come across it again

Nice blog though, I'm gonna bookmark it

pos rep for your feedback, yea def diff strokes. thats why in my opening paragraph i like to say how we all are different ppl with different emotions that different movies will hit us. looper had such a rich and ingenious original story which in todays hollywood is difficult to come by. and i enjoyed it immensely. but then u have a completely different type of movie two slots down in Les Miz which i never watch musicals and i was floored and left speechless with a standing ovation in my theater. so yea diff strokes diff folks. and i shall def check out this flick soon as i come across it.

oh and thanks for the bookmark, i typically only do the top 10 thing on my blog but been meaning to dabble a bit more into it throughout the rest of the year. goodman

:salute: I wanna like Looper, really badly, big JGL fan and seeing him and Jeff Daniels together again like in the Lookout is cool to me. Plus Paul Dano is in it, again a big fan but IDK something about it is making it difficult to sit through. I agree about an original idea, really refreshing in this day and age breh, so I'll give it another shot.

Good list of 2011 too, 4 Gosling movies in your top 10 :krs: Dude knows how to pick a script.

no homo :whoa: but ima big time Gosling fan, dudes hate on em way DiCaprio got shytted on after Titanic success (Gosling and Notebrook female craze), but dude legit is a helluva actor. You have no idea how much i was obsessed with the movie Drive. like the soundtrack i still jam to this day. scope out the trailer to his new movie Beyond the Pines, looks sick. and later in the year he's re uniting with the Drive director for another gritty dark film about maui tai boxing called Only God Forgives.
