Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have recently joined my church. Michelle debuted her new gospel song a few weeks ago. Afterwards she gave a testimony about how the Christian chuch condemned her and turned her away after Destiny's Child disbanded.

My pastor, Toure Roberts, then called the both of them to the stage to apologize on behalf of all churches because he said they shouldn't be condemned, turned away, rejected from the church. He said the church should be guiding, teaching, praying for, etc those in the secular world...not turn them away.

All of the services are taped and broadcasted on livestream, so of course this was spread across the gospel blogosphere. The self-righteous Christian bloggers jumped on this and have started to bash Pastor Toure saying he's putting down the church, has no right to speak for the church, etc.

Good for your pastor. Sad there are so many self righteous fuks out there. Everyone always conveniently forgets who it was JC used to chill with and who it was he said we should be out there trying to reach.

I heard your pastor on the radio yesterday and I think he's wrong. He said they rejected Michelle because she couldn't promise that she wouldn't sing with them again. Those churches aren't in the wrong. That's protecting your sheep because she's send a mixed message. And you don't want young people thinking it's ok to shake it with Destiny Child. Then singing about Jesus on Sunday.
