My knees are swollen. Do I have to stop working out?

Really played basketball for the first time in a minute and now the next day my knees are swollen. This has never happened to me before. But maybe I just didn't notice in my teens.

Do I need to slow down or just keep doing what I'm doing and my body will adapt?

You may have some mild arthritis. Take aspirin after playing next time and note if the swelling occurs again. If not, it may be manageable with an anti-inflammatory regimen.

I hit the track and felt fine so I just ran through it tbh. No more pain the next day
