The trouble with David Duke is that he was definitely a racist...but at the same time, he made quite a bit of sense by raising some very legitimate issues concerning racial bias in this country. The media used Duke's racist past and beliefs to belittle and demagogue the entire matter. Just because Duke himself was a racist doesn't mean that the points that he made were not legitimate.
