Whattup y'all?

So I own the Xbox One, PS4 and some other consoles and a Macbook Pro (only for Hearthstone) - but I am thinking of getting a PC for playing Overwatch and some PC exclusive games.

I won't be building the computer myself, I'd like to go for a ready made one.

Questions:

1. What are the minimum spec requirements I should go for considering for the next 2-3 years at least I want to be able to play a game like Overwatch with graphics I would compare to watching YouTube videos in 720p (so it doesn't have to be the best quality available ever, but definitely good enough to enjoy)?

2. Would you suggest a gaming laptop or a real PC with monitor etc.?

3. What price range would this be in?

Thanks a lot!
:salute:

If building is out of the question for you, hit up cyberpower. They'll build for you from scratch and you can interchange parts on ready made desktops. Almost anything would handle what your asking as far as 2-3 years at mid graphics. Price range is up to you. For overwatch
Minimum (targeting 30fps):

  • Operating system: Windows Vista/7/ 8/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 865
  • Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, ATI Radeon HD 4850, or Intel HD Graphics 4400
  • Memory: 768 MB VRAM, 4 GB System RAM
  • Storage: 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space
Recommended (targeting 60fps on Medium settings):

  • Operating system: Windows Vista/7/ 8/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Phenom II X3, 2.8 GHz
  • Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or ATI Radeon HD 7950
  • Memory: 2 GB VRAM, 6 GB System RAM
  • Storage: 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space
Go with the recommended specs. That should hold you for the next couple of years.
Be prepared to spend between $700-1100.
Good luck

Overwatch is very very well made and optimized for PC so you can get a lot for your buck when building for this game. I was running near ultra settings on 1080p with SLI 780's and a 6 core 3.2 i7

Question 3 depends on your budget.

Question 2 get a real monitor with a high refresh rate.

For CPU, I'd say get an i3-7100 or an i5-7500/7600k

GPU should be an easy choice, aren't 1050's/1060's cheap these days? That's more than enough

Everything else shouldn't matter too much.
