My graphics card ain't flabby - it's FOSSILIZED.

Never really noticed until now b/c my old TV was a 50" TCL so I didn't care. Now I have a 65" Samsung (hand me down from my parents but still better than anything I could afford) and...yeah. this is bad.

My current card is a (braces for laughter) Gigabyte 1060 Windforce OC (6GB). With the shortage we have now, what's a good reasonably priced upgrade? I know I'll be paying $400-500 for shyt that's already outdated, but that's my fault for not paying attention. Or would I do better to overclock it

Get a 1660 super or 1660 ti. Probably can get one for $400-500. The raytracing ain’t worth it on a 2060, but the basic performance is pretty close to the same

You're playing at 1080p? A 1060 isn't that bad.
We're getting new GPUs this fall from AMD and maybe Nvidia. I'd say your GPU is ancient then but not yet lol

It's really not, and that's why I never noticed. I was playing an uktea modded Skyrim and RDR2 with no problems. But my old max res was 1920x1080. Now it's 3840 x 2160, and I'm still having to change it to make it smoother and easier on the eyes. AC: Valhalla, Deathloop and FC6 are the games that made me start looking at other cards!

Well see that's the thing. Even a 2060 is gonna struggle at 4k. Most people run 1440p 60 fps right now.

1440p is the sweet spot brotha.
