Long story short, my car told me yesterday that my back tire on the drivers side was low. My dad was gonna let me use his air pump. I forgot to go by there last night and went to work this morning with my tire still low smh. Me and my paternal grandma work at the same place. My dad remembered my tire was low and out the kindness of his heart :mjcry: decided to pump my tire in the parking lot while I was inside. My grandmother comes in a little later than me and when she peeped across the parking lot and saw someone "tampering" with my car she pulled her gun out and drove over there 🤣😭

I have never heard that before calling grandma MeMa lol

I heard Nanny, Granny, Grandma, Madea, Madear, Grants, MawMaw (creole for grandma)...but never Mema

1st time for everything tho.
What's the origin of MEMA for Grandma?

Memaw is a respelling of mémère (may-MARE), Cajun French for granny or grandma. Mémère has been recorded in French for at least 150 years. It derives from mère (mother), which with its first syllable repeated becomes mémère (granny). The formal French word is grand-mère.

Mema

A slang term for a grandmother. Used in many southern states, including Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, and Louisiana.
"Hey Mema! Where you goin'?"

"I'm headin' back into the house to get your Pepa."
