my friend wants to make a show that animated but similar to Martin but set in present day. something like this ...

i don't know he wants to do his own youtube channel mainly of animated stuff and we been coming up with ideas or get influences from shows and use those influences into making our own thing.

edit: what ideas for episodes should i tell him to do ? like something relevant. i actually told him to do an episode about black lives matter.

Well what's the tone of the show he's going for and what's the comedy he's going for. Is he going for Martin which is stand up routine with good characters or is he going for something more satirical like the simpsons? or something more like Arrested Development? If he's going for the standup thing, doing a black lives matter episode might be tough to juggle tonally

he going for comedy. he wants to do something similar to the vibe of Martin but at the same time he wants at least one in a while put episodes that teach a important message or discuss something important. it's a weird concept but it's what wants to do.

Yeah that's tough. Not impossible but tough. Because Martin could get really silly at times and break the fourth wall and all that shyt. Trying to do the "very special episode" is tough to pull off. If I were him, I'd go for a more subtle comedic approach so it's easier to do something like that. But it's his word and he's gotta do what he's gotta do, just hopefully he can find a way to do it
