My daughter just told me none of her teachers talked about or mentioned a single thing about the election.

Yo this shyt got me heated as fukk right now. I inform my daughter about all this stuff and I make sure she is aware, but that shyt just damn near brought tears to my eyes. She's in the 11th grade at one of the better schools in the city with a 90+% graduation rate.

How is this possible? You mean to tell me that not a single teacher gathered the class and spoke about the importance of voting or the importance of being involved in politics?

That means that they are not involved and are not passing along information on their everyday life, AS fukkING TEACHERS.

NOBODY mentioned it? No teacher brought it up?

What in the fukk is going on?

America got the most mid education system in the world, only schools worth a damn are private ones with small classes.

Most schools in America are to get by and create workers, not scholars and productive citizens, you really shouldn't expect your kids to get much out of it. I'm homeschooling my daughter for that reason. I wouldn't be surprised if those teachers are burnt out at this point

Maybe they (the teachers) don't vote or choose not to get involved in politics in their own life. Maybe they are Jehovah's witness. I don't think it's a teacher's job to tell kids they should vote. They could teach about civics and how the government/democracies work, etc. but i don't necessarily think it's a teacher's job to encourage kids to participate in the system.

In the social media era it is probably tricky because they will get fired if they show bias to one side or another I’m assuming.

Politics is a very sensitive subject.
Why fear this in an 85% black city in a school ran by a 90% black staff?

I ain't tripping on you, but this is a definite bytch made reason to not inform kids on important shyt. If that's the case, we are fukked because our kids know absolutely nothing about what's going on.

This is counter productive and down right destructive ASF.

I'm literally considering going into teaching at this point. We've bred a bunch of weak ass people who fear "possible" criticism or "possible" loss of a check to check job.

God damn we have got mentally weak asf.

During my high school graduation, they interrupted the program to announce that gay marriage was finally legal across the nation. I don’t think bringing up political stuff has any effect on their jobs

they don't wanna get in trouble or fired fam, even if the whole administration is 100% black.

It's up to us as parents and a community to start schooling our youth. They don't even wanna teach black history anymore in schools fam.

what more is there to say. But I hear you breh
The oppressor doesn’t teach its victims that they’re oppressed to maintain control.

For the goal is to make the oppressed group accept the system and eventually desire it willingly.
