It was true back then but as I've posted on other threads about back in the day - It wasn't to the extent it was now: These days to get even a SUB AVERAGE BASIC bytch a lot of times you have to have "References" and "Creds" on the street AKA through mutual contacts. As soon as bytch saw he was "vouched for" by a common "accredited" male acquaintance the whole dynamic changed. In the first approach he did not even come disrespectful and was designated as "lame" and "unoriginal" for being polite and respectful. Let me tell you something: Most Women don't want respect (at least not in the beginning)
This is what brothers have to realize is many Women will say you need to do _____ and you need to do that ____ etc. Their opinion on the subject matter is WORTHLESS. Don't even acknowledge them talking on the subject whether online or offline.
The only thing I have to say to Women is this (the rest of this post is not for you): The reality is the average nikka is not trying to get the hottest bytch in the club above his "level" in 2015. You are shytting on nikkas on your level because it is what you are brainwashed to do by Cookie Lyon, Mary Jane, Precious, Scandal and Sasha Fierce archetypes in the Media.
Back to the brothers: So you damned if you do and damned if you don't. Even if you put on a durag and fitted buy some bling and rims tomorrow it won't change most Women's reactions. And being polite and normal isn't going to work either. The key here is Women have a HERD mentality and they need multiple people to back up their choices in life and Men.

Either way the moral of the story here is build a street rep and creds by providing useful goods and services to homies and a select group of Women that actually have capabilities aside from twerking and complaining.
