When I win I bring we with me
I just found my old ps2 memory card saves for Frequency & Amplitude:ohlawd: ...I'm talking 2003ish:wow:

They had a remix mode where you could make your own music and bruh ....I got like 40-60 tracks I made back in the day.:lawd: Spent the whole damn afternoon listening to tracks the other day ...nostalgia :mjcry:

Had so many freq tracks they said you need a second memory card to store additional tracks :russ:
Eventually I went to ejay clubworld but I only ever made like 1 ...and a half tracks:francis::yeshrug:

That was the very first time I ever used a sequencer....

I didn't like it much because with Frequency & Amplitude you actually "played" the construction of your song. It was like playing a piano that recorded your key presses instead of simply placing sounds on a sequencer track:scust:

The last time I messed around with a music maker game was Beaterator psp which I liked because it had alot of hiphop beats while the other games were all over the place. I made about 10-15 tracks on this one:ehh:

I will say this though Beaterator is ridiculously featured. You can do damn near anything in Beaterator. It even allowed you to "play the construction" of your tracks like Frequency & Amplitude does instead of simply placing sounds on a sequencer track.

I actually wouldn't mind a desktop version of Beaterator:ehh: ...I need to get me a psp emulator :ohhh:

I decided to start uploading those old ass tracks from back in the day instead of letting them gather dust on random memory cards. :francis::ehh:

Below is the first and only full track I ever made on ejay clubworld while getting used to the sequencer
(wanted to test transferring data from ps2)

:lawd:

I should twitch/youtube stream the music making process in Frequency & Amplitude:jbhmm:
Coli ever fukk wit "music maker games"? :ld:

When I win I bring we with me
This is the second full track I ever made in frequency
(or rather the 4th or 5th song i've ever made ...in life)

Video to give you an idea of what I mean when I say you can "play the construction" of your song in Frequency & Amplitude
(This is just my unfinished testing of content formats, handbreak video compression *to speed up upload time*, etc.)

I play amplitude every so often now :ehh:

I suck but :yeshrug: it's mildy entertaining.

The mulit-player mode is horrendous :hhh: I really miss the split screen experience with 2-4 player games.

:heh: what version, the old ps2 vers or the ps4 one that came out recently?
I liked the multiplayer mode in the ps2 version ...it was literally bangin on wax(tracks). You had weapons you could use against the other guy and everything :ehh:

Here is a track I made on Beaterator
(This is hands down my favorite program, even though I made 3-4 times as many tracks on Frequency & Amplitude)

1109274-gb.png

This is the very first song I ever made in beaterator
(I didn't make as many tracks in beaterator because you have more stuff/details to do in order to build a track)

On the other hand this is the most "mature" track I've ever made
(and also the last ...I havn't made new music in awhile)

By mature what I mean is post processing, sampling, audio level manipulation, audio effects, etc. I really dug deep on this one.
Hell I based the whole track around sampling an opera I heard on NPR while driving home after thanksgiving call Margret Garner

Hear the whole Opera here
(see if you can find my samples)

In pre-Civil War America, few slave stories were more compelling than Margaret Garner's. She and her family were owned by a Kentucky plantation farmer, but one night they escaped to Ohio with another group of slaves.

Their hiding place was discovered, and Margaret's family was surrounded. She swore she would kill her children and herself rather than return to slavery. As her husband was dragged off, Margaret plunged a knife into her daughter. She was preparing to kill her other daughter and herself when she was seized and jailed.
....
Grammy Award-winning composer Richard Danielpour and Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison collaborated to bring this true life story to the operatic stage. Margaret Garner was co-commissioned by opera companies in Detroit, Cincinnati and Philadelphia and made its debut in May 2005 at Michigan Opera Theatre in Detroit.

I used to rock with MTV music generator back in the day.

MTV Music Generator was the GOAT. Ironically the 1st one on the PS1 was the most intuitive. U could actually flip a sample on that shyt. Lol. The PS2 ones removed features n shyt.

I remember always seeing those games:ohhh: but never understood what they were and how they worked,:patrice: so I never picked up one.:ehh::yeshrug:
They did a poor job of advertising them. They would show a music video and a menu with a bunch of buttons then let you guess how all that was suppose to work:mindblown::mjcry:

Like I said the only reason I got into music maker games was because I've always been into quirky shyt like...

So when I saw...

...I jumped on it.
It was only after completing levels that opened up songs to remix :lupe: ...that I found out how fun making music was.:krs::ooh: :gladbron:
:wtf:Then I got hooked.:wtf:
:ohlawd:
