Sasha been on the backburner for a year so all these blondes can get pushed
Bliss and Carmella are basically the same character and they dominate both divisions despite being good talkers who can barely wrestle. The only credible alternative to them is the chronically overrated Charlotte who has proven multiple times to be incapable of carrying Bliss or Carmella to even decent matches.
Even having said that this is nothing new for WWE. Going back to the WWF Trish Stratus (who I fully admit I am partial to) was number one and before her it was Alundra Blayze. Blayze was particularly egregious because she was getting carried to good matches by some All-time joshi greats in Aja Kong and Bull Nakano.
That’s the ultimate fate of the best women workers in WWE who don’t fit Vince’s profile of who should be on top. If you’re Aja Kong or Sasha Banks or Asuka, phenomenal sellers who make their opponents look great, your job is to make the chosen blondes look good.
Dave is right here but he’s also guilty in his own way of perpetuating it because he refuses to put any blame on Charlotte for her role in dominating the women’s division on both shows. When it comes to Charlotte stinking up the ring with Bliss and Carmella every Pay Per View, it’s always ‘there’s only so much she can do.’ Nicki fukking Bella had a better feud with Carmella than Charlotte did.
