Mulan is a top 5 Disney classic but these are the facts after really following the plot line.
Mulan is so manly looking that she only needs to cut her hair and wear a bun to pass for a man. The soldiers never look at her like she’s a bit feminine at any point.
Even in this scene, she’s instantly recognizable as a soldier just by putting her hair up.
Looks more like a Disney Prince
As for Shang, there are romantic undertones even while he thinks she’s still a man. There’s no excuse, even if she looked like a twink.
You also have to ask yourself, if one of your home boys revealed he was a woman, would you automatically begin a relationship with he/she?
Mulan was ugly and Shang married her because it was the closet thing he could get to openly living that batty boi life. The live action should have stayed true to the message.
