Cribs was one of MTV’s most popular programs at the turn of the century. According to Deadline, MTV is rebooting the iconic Cribs with a new season of entering celebrities’ homes for an all-access look at the most lavish mansions across the country.
The new season kicks off on August 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET for a 30-minute episode. Guests slated to make appearances on the rebooted classic include Rick Ross, Big Sean, Tinashe, former NBA baller Nick Young, reality star Scott Disick, Jersey Shore‘s Snooki, YouTube sensation Jojo Siwa, business mogul Martha Stewart and more.
“Cribs didn’t simply introduce the celebreality genre, it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media,” said MTV president of content and CCO Nina L. Diaz, who was onboard when the series launched in 2000. “We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world.”
Rick Ross has a plethora of real estate to choose from and it wasn’t noted if he’s going to show off his 235-acre estate that he still cuts the grass at which was formerly owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield. He also recently purchased a Florida home that used to be former NBA star Amaré Stoudemire’s.
“I sit there and have my cannabis rolled up, and, man, I look at the property and can appreciate my struggles and my triumphs, those rough days,” Ross explained to Forbes of why he opts to cut his own grass. “For anybody who doesn’t cut their own grass, I would say take time out every two or three months to cut your grass because it is such a great and peaceful sensation.”
Catch the Cribs premiere on August 11 on MTV and revisit Redman’s classic 2001 episode giving fans a tour of his humbling De La Casa Staten Island lifestyle.
