its just market forces....since Fox news has cornered the demo that hates black people and especially the president, MSNBC markets itself as an Obama friendly channel in order to draw the democratic, left leaning audience. The problem for MSNBC is that almost every major media organization in America is filled with Obama cheerleaders so they really aren't differentiating themselves. That is why MSNBC's ratings are so bad.

If you take out the >68 y/o demo, MSNBC and Fox are quite competitive when it comes to ratings and ad rate demands. Fox got the one foot in the gave, pre civil rights, too senile to pick up the remote and change the channel crowd on lock.

Why do left wingers like yourself always disparage older people? Are they somehow not important in American society?

One thing you apparently don't realize is that people generally become more conservative as they get older. Most young people tend to be liberal but as they become more invested in society (get a job, buy a house, pay taxes, raise children) they become more likely to vote Republican. It is part of becoming a responsible adult.

Although I am assuming that someone like you is probably on food stamps and living in the projects. In that case you are probably a lifelong Democrat voter.

Naw...I think becoming conservative is owed to other factors associated with aging. When you're younger you are more mentally vibrant, hold personal hope for your own future, have a wider circle of diverse friends, have greater access to women, etc. and therefore you have a healthier outlook on life and society. As such one embraces politics that are oriented around humanity and the social.

Once you grow older your hopes for your own future are dashed being stuck in a dead end job, your social circle constricts and is reduced to that racist friend that lives next to you, you're with a wife thats only getting fatter, your brain cells start to diminish, and your only access to the world is fox news....welp, when this happens your views generally become quite caustic and corrosive. Enter conservative ideology.

Yea I know you are it's just that attention is what people like him are seeking. I don't think any right-wing extremist nor Fox News viewer would want to be on this forum unless their only intention is to gain pleasure, like a sociopath, from annoying regular posters. Even the OD dude, I do my best to avoid their posts after grasping the full nature of their intentions of going against the grain. That's all it is, resist the overall feel of the forum to garner as much attention as they can by having contrary opinions.

Why do you left wingers get upset when someone presents an opposing viewpoint? You need to step out of your bubble and be willing to have your beliefs challenged. That seems to be a huge problem among most liberals I meet.
