....I'm talking good TV shows either "good" FX/HBO style or even a USA Network "fun" style. I enjoy cotton candy like Suits on USA and also stuff like Justified on FX etc etc.....it is like having different food on your plate.
Anyway.
Watched Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise on netflix and thought....it is based on a book series...a character like that would be far more interesting in an FX or HBO or Netflix style show with a deeper character study for 13 eps or so. To me it doesn't work as well as a movie. I get what they were going for, but I think I'd enjoy it more as a TV show.
The Lincoln Lawyer. I enjoyed the movie, but I think that would be a really good TV show...you could go serious HBO style or lighter USA Network style and it still be enjoyable. Amazon greenlight BOSCH based on books by the same author of The Lincoln Lawyer so will be interesting if it has some of the same style.
The Book of Eli. Would be more likely to be a bit of a mess like Revolution on NBC....it is hard to get post apocalyptic stuff right on TV IMO. But there was a lot of story there depending on where you start the narrative.
Knowing. This was one of those B Nicholas Cage movies he is making a lot of. Interesting concept if more fleshed out could have been an enjoyable series...not necessarily a great drama.
There have been 2 attempts to make a movie out of the character Dave Robicheaux from books Heaven's Prisoners and In the Electric Mist.... and 2 attempts at the character Matthew Scudder from books..8 Million Ways to Die (Jeff Bridges) and A Walk Among the Tombstones (Liam Neeson) Both could be better served as an FX/HBO style show.
