The Cosby one never bothered me as it reminded me of my mom and her siblings (my uncles & aunts)
I got aunts as light as Kid from Kid n Play (high yellow) and a couple of Aunts/Uncles as brown as DMX

this is common today, but back then it was definitely out of nowhere. did they even have a line explaining it? i don't remember. feel like people would consider that a "brave" move to do that back then without some convoluted explanation.
i wonder if they cast some over the top sexy 40 year old black woman in the next Jurassic Park and bring her back.

In hindsight this wasn't that bad. Goldblum isn't a pale white guy and if his baby's mother was really dark skinned, his daughter would look about right. I've seen the same thing in real life. Actually that being said, it's possible she was his adopted daughter, since I don't remember them saying much about it anyway.
One of the characters says something like "Do you see the family resemblance here?". It wasn't a regular choice for this kind of film.
