Mother accused of beating kids for burglarizing home released from jail

The controversial arrest of a mother accused of whipping her children after they allegedly burglarized a home has sparked debate regarding whether or not she should have been arrested.

"She shouldn't be arrested. She should be given a medal," said Patricia Williams in the comment section of the post published on the WAFB Facebook page. "I bet those boys think twice before burglarizing another house!!"
he controversy surrounds the reason she claims prompted the alleged abuse.

"[She] admitted to hitting [the child] and her two other sons multiple times as they were moving and running away," the deputy noted. "[She] did this because the victims burglarized a residence down the street."

According to the probable cause report, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office were contacted by the Department of Children and family services. The report notes that three children had visible marks including cuts and scratches.

"The degree of physical discipline will be reviewed," said District Attorney Hillar Moore. "The law does not allow excessive pain or cruelty but does allow physical parental discipline.

"Parents have the right and obligation to discipline and teach their children," he added. "We often time see children who have no parental authority or discipline which eventually results in delinquency and criminal acts. We need more parents who discipline their children. Surely you would expect a parent to discipline a child who is burglarizing other people’s homes as this could be a deadly encounter for the child."

Moore noted that he has only been provided a brief synopsis of the alleged incident.

"I will review all of the reports; meet with the DCFS office and review any history of this mother and her children to get a better picture of the entire family dynamics before making a decision," he said. "In the meantime my office is working with the juvenile court to ensure the speedy release of the mother under conditions satisfactory to the court."

But Spears has already been released from jail. Reports indicate that her bond was posted by a private citizen who is not connected to Spears but empathized with her situation. Her bond was set at $2,500.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office has not yet responded to requests for a comment regarding the arrest.

Maybe the authorities are mad because they don't want anything that's gonna turn the sons into decent black citizens.

Personally, I don't advocate parents beating their children but they're lucky a parental whipping is all they got.

Im a big advocate of beating kids. I give ZERO fukks what anybody says. Always throwing out big wors like "abuse" and sh!t to deter you from disciplining kids. Kids are like wild plants. If you dont train them they grow wild and out of control. Beating their asses and teaching them obedience is a major part of said training.

But then again this is a country where everything is spun. Disciplining your kids is spun as "abuse" and when they rob a store later the apologists will spin it as a "mistake".

:dwillhuh: Folks can't discipline they kids no more. They could have ended up dead tryna rob someone home. Let parents discipline their kids man

But those are potential prison inmates and tax dollars to spend :troll:

I still got switch marks or my legs from getting caught shoplifting when I was 11 :sadcam:
