More than half of the members of US Congress are now millionaires. According to personal financial disclosure data filed last year and analyzed by the Center for Responsive Politics, at least 268 members of the House of Representatives and the Senate had an average net worth of $1 million or more in 2012. This marks the first time in history that the majority of the United States' lawmakers have fortunes totaling more than $1 million.

just the fact that they are allowed to do insider trading is enough to tell you what the deal is
Nowadays, government is where you go to get rich if you could not manage to get a corporate seat

Not denying that they're all a bunch of corrupt muthafukkas but I guess I just assumed most of them had six figure salaries? That salary after a few years can make anyone a millionaire especially if you invest in shyt.

I know I know... :camby:... I'm just sayin.

we all basically knew this, but sometimes it gets put into your face. brings to mind the time beohner was handing out tobacco industry checks to other congress members on camera.

bribes, insider trading, lobbying jobs when you quit, if you can get elected, the sky is the limit.
