I do agree with your overall concept. However, I don't think NBA owners purposely do this.

You have to remember, owning a team is a prideful thing.. team owners have unimaginable amounts of money, so even if the team is losing right now.. that few million you are losing during the year is NOTHING compared to that pride and joy they will get once their team "turns it around". Marc Cuban for example, you would be surprised to know that most owners are as passionate about it as he is.. yet they just don't show it in public.

It's a game and competition to them as well. To them it's like having your fantasy basketball team in a league.

I think as a whole, it is part of the matrix though. The owners are not part of that conspiracy though..we might be the pawns on the chessboard, yet the owners are still only the rooks or knights. Not the king/queen.
