I was thinking this morning and wondering to myself why are " black leaders" always clamoring for rappers to speak to the youth?

Do you honestly believe that Rick Ross or Young Thug care about your children after they just told them on record to go "Pop a Molly" and "Put a molly in her drink' , "Drink Lean" and to go "Kill a snitch nikka" :mindblown:

I mean I get it.. It's is all entertainment etc etc, but are these the people you want showing up at your child's high school to speak?

It's why I couldn't believe so many people in Black leadership including Obama endorsed the likes of Jay-Z

he's a GOAT rapper, but a role model ?:rudy::ld::ld:

Imagine a rapper wearing 30k in jewelry showing up to talk to a teenage who hasn't had a job yet tell him "Do the opposite of everything I'm telling you to do in those songs.. Yes those things got me a Porsche, a house in the hills, and more diamonds then you could imagine, but forget all that.. Stay in school kids, don't do drugs and don't call your fellow sisters bytches :umad:

A program needs to be started up of a group of prisoners who want reduction in time to come and speak to the young black men before its to late for them and they head down the wrong path

Kids need to know of all of the pitfalls, instead of just seeing the glitz and the glam on TV.

Parents/guardians should be the role models first

Of course thats what "should happen", but if it were, then rappers wouldn't be asked to make these guest appearances and speeches in the first place

So if we are going to have anybody speak to at the at risk youth then it should be prisoners.

I agree kids are already confused enough today.

The youth it might make a difference with are those who think it's 'cool' or a fad to be involved with the streets. On the other hand high risk youth from bad situations need further interaction and support from people who are in it for the long haul.

CBM National has a mentoring program targeting youth in middle school.. more of this kind of thing would go a long way especially with the latter.
