On a faraway mountaintop, eight teenaged guerillas with guns watch over a hostage and a conscripted milk cow. Playing games and initiating cult-like rituals, the children run amok in the jungle and disaster strikes when the hostage tries to escape.

Caught this shyt yesterday night and it is insanely good, brehs! It's a fukking harrowing look at brainwashed teenaged soldiers who, despite their hardened guerilla training, still act like a bunch of teenagers would. It's also absolutely beautiful to the point some shots are almost disgusting in their brilliance (just watch the trailer). This film is a genuine movie of the year contender.

beautifully shot & well acted film but I do think the pace was a lil too quick. I mean we get introduced to the Monos, and they're supposed to feel like a tight knit group but then a couple of mins later all this descension happens, but that did show who was really bout that life :picard: I also thought the movie was trying to make too many points, and they all kind of get muddled and the ending (helicopter scene) was a bit predictable too once it started. Overall, this is a good film worth a watch for the visuals and acting alone...add in the tension that kicks in 30 mins in and explodes as the film goes on, hard for this to disappoint.
