Very good question especially the way the economy is now. I work in a bank and while I do have a rainy day account I also get out and go travel because the dollar and worth nothing now and the way these youngin's killing outchea might as well spend it while you got it.

I wouldn't deprive myself of the things that want and stuff I want to experience, but I also don't want to be working myself at 62 years old 
trying to fund my hedonist lifestyle .Really tho, the average persons life savings can get 
real quick in this type of economy with rising costs of living, so yeah in a way, it almost makes it pointless. A serious illness or accident or whatever will feast on even the most comfortable rainy day or retirement fund 
It does make you think tho when you hear and see older people with so many regrets about not living the way they wanted to or somebody who just dies @ like 43 when all they did was work........Then it's there's the other person that did live it up and now they're barely maintaining wishing that they would have did some financial planning
It's all about balance I guess. It's kinda crazy how money really isn't shyt, but at the same time it really is

look at the cost of a large pizza nowadays. it's like 16 dollars. i was buying large pizzas in my senior year of high school in 2000 for $9.00. that means the price damn near doubled in a little over a decade. this money is quickly losing its worth, brehs. no sense in saving. spend.

If you save, it should be for a reason (i.e. house down payment). But you also shouldnt just spend money cuz one day you'll be old and wish you still had that money.
It's crazy how much perspective young people lack when it comes to getting older. Like it's never gonna come. I tutor middle and high schoolers and 80% think that shyt is just gonna work itself out in the future.
