I 1000% understand it from her perspective but still the school has no right to allow her to address other ppl’s children like that in front of the class
man, in today's current climate, this approach is needed!
Don't be p*ssyfooting around., The schooling system is failing children.

Therein lies half the problem with these incidents. The teachers can't control anything in the classroom. You send your kids to school where they're under the care of the school, and the school isn't doing anything.

I don’t blame the mother...for this situation to be handled like this it’s clear the teacher (as well as the administration if they permitted the parent to address the class rather than hold a conference w/ the parents) are grossly incompetent...unfortunately there’s no guarantee her addressing the students directly will solve anything...all it takes is one ignorant ass parent having an issue w/ her addressing their child

The mother has every right to protect her child. Obviously, she went to the school and tried to go the right route with the situation that wasn't handled effectively, (which is the problem with many schools). This was her best option or last resort to deal with the situation. Better than the alternative of having the little girl inflict self harm or serious injuries. Kids at that age, only do what the parents or adults let them get away with. Next, if the little girl ends up getting hurt or hospitalized - you'll be the same one talking about "what did her parents do to help her" or "where was the parental involvement".

(Better than the alternative of having the daughter point out each of the kids that are bothering her, after school; real covert like and one by one, yoke their little asses up to send the message).

I agree w/ you and that’s why I stated this initially...

I 1000% understand it from her perspective...

...but I didn’t respond to anything else you wrote bcuz it’s all conjecture...I have no idea re: the details of the situation or what measures were taken by the school/other parents...I do know that a parent no matter how good her intentions are re: her child should not be allowed in front of a classroom to curse in front of kids/threaten their parents

Don't care. Allowed or not allowed, however the situation needs to be handled; that's how it's getting done. Period. The rest is not conjecture. Tell the misbehaving brats to conduct themselves accordingly, if their parents don't teach them - then they will learn the hard way.

Parents should control their children then.

this is an ultra generic statement...in a perfect world that’d be great but from my teaching experience too often I’ve seen kids that came from good homes whose parents I knew rather well act a pure ass in school...peer pressure is a bytch and it’s been made 1000x worse w/ the impact of social media
