In one of my elevated moments off the coughee, I just paid attention to the lyrics of this song. I never peeped it was a letter and it's based on a true story :ohhh:

To be in their late teens-early 20s when they dropped their early albums and be such skilled storytellers is amazing. Same wit Nas, Pac, Big, Native Tongues, etc

This OG version was always cool, but Tip took it to the next level with the album version and the Patrice Rushen sample and his drums. Crystal on the hook was really dope too, and elevated the track crazy.
And then he pushed it even further with the remix, which might be my neck and neck with Give Up The Goods for my favorite beat ever

True! It's definitely right there with "Give Up The Goods".

I even like the singing on it, as an alternative to the album one. She killed both of those!
