They really don't though. A Baseball Tonight style show would be accessible as hell like BT was. People who didn't even like baseball was watching that show. You trying to vouch for a show we don't know about shouldn't confusion worthy for you.

The MLB had an Inside the NBA level impact show with Karl, Harold, Peter Gammons, and an occasional pop in and ESPN did ESPN shyt to it. They don't have a flagship highlight show that reaches people and they deserve it given the resurgence. The MLB is more fun than the NBA now.
TBS can do the coolest thing and just establish that on their end because during the playoffs, MLB postgames on FOX and TBS are actually really good (Jeter/A-Rod/Ortiz), TBS has Pedro/Granderson/Sheffield/Rollins.

MLB Network killed ESPN's appetite to do baseball because that network was killing it to the point where fans would just go there for baseball related stuff without the fluff.

Some of the greatest players ever died last year and ESPN barely mentioned any of them
ESPN sucks we all know this. But what’s the alternative? It’s the untouchable juggernaut of sports no matter how trash it is.

Getting dropped by ESPN is not good no matter how you slice it.

Baseball is about to really find out that they don't love u like that. They been in free fall for a long time. They were part of the fabric of America for a long time. But they've been replaced by the NFL and NBA and it's been that way since really the 90s.i think it's one of those things where you so far ahead that ppl don't notice the fall until it suddenly hits the bottom. Welcome to the bottom MLB, the NBA will experience this too in the coming yrs after the new massive TV deals they just signed expire. Those deals were on the backs of LeBron, Steph, KD. They had better find a new American superstar really soon. They are more global than MLB though, but that ain't enough to sustain the leagues current popularity which is already suffering and slipping. They need for Cooper Flagg to pan out.

Non baseball fans love talking about baseball. ESPN only broadcasted Sunday night games last season. MLB will be just fine without them.

So why did both attendance and TV ratings both go up last season? Baseball is a regional sport as well. They don't rely on pushing individuals. They promote teams. That NFL and NBA logic doesn't apply to baseball.

Thought with this latest TV deal, they handled all production of NFLN shows
Dawg since 2010 ESPN has been making the NFL priority #1 over ALL sports throughout the year even in days and months where the NFL is on the backburner.

Hell CFB doesn't get looks like that until August through the start of January.

You really just need MLB TV and MLB Network if you are a baseball fan at this point. Add on a VPN for MLB TV to get around blackouts.

ESPN MLB broadcasts have been beyond terrible for years.

Some streamer is going to give MLB the bag.
Mlb needs to get rid of blackouts. This sport does not need to limit the way you can watch.

Youtube should do it or Prime.

is this just a roundabout way of saying people ain't loving sports the way they used to? I hope so cuz then you'd be right.

It is kinda weird that they never talk about baseball on the main page on YouTube.

Also if you look at the number of videos of the different pages espn nba, espn mlb, etc you see their priority. Unadjusted for length of season, teams and number of games

NBA 26k
Soccer 26k
College football 13k
NFL 12k
NHL 5k
MLB 2k

ESPN is the unofficial 2nd NFL network
Exactly.
Just like most other general sports platforms. I was listening to a sports radio station yesterday thinking they would dish on Wembys season ending injury.
They instead were doing fantasy draft predictions for the next NFL season.

The ratings were not there.

The MLB had better be on NETWORK television and FREE streaming this time.

Also get your stars out there! Why isn't Ohtani or Judge on Colbert/Fallon/Kimmel!

Why isn't Harper everywhere! He has a pulse.

ESPN only broadcasted Sunday night baseball. What kind of ratings are they supposed to have?

Again, MLB doesn't promote individuals. They promote teams.

Ohtani can't even speak English but you want him on late night TV...
