Nobody has ever denied that you was mixed we just said that being mixed is apart of being black. If anything it is white people that tell you that your not white. Get mad at them for saying that your not apart of the group.
And why would you throw away half of your racial identity? If I'm half black and half white then by your logic I can say "I'm white" and it make just as much sense as saying "I'm black". If you have the color orange are you going to say "It's not orange. It's red?"
Your racial identity will still be mixed. What strangers think you are doesn't affect your genetic makeup. Contrary to popular belief. And for the record black people and mixed people look down on each other. It's a two way street.I think he is referring to that documentary titled
"I'm Mixed not Black Damnit"
Mixed people with black/white parents tend to
look down upon black people yet the average white
person will consider them black. If I was to
bring a mixed person to an all white town,
most likely those white people will see
two black people. Nota black person and
a mixed person.
really, because I see the opposite? from my experience atleast. But then again, I live in California, so maybe the mix culture is different over here. What I see is alot of mix(b/w) kids identify with their black side more. Maybe it depends on their surroundings. Most likely different if said mix kid lived in Bel Air or something.I think he is referring to that documentary titled
