SC been moving down the ladder also. 7% down to 6.2%. They just put a bill out to get it down to 3.99 by 2026 then 2.49 to eventually 0. Honestly can't wait. Disappointed that I'm paying more state income tax in SC than I did in PA or NJ.![]()
As a native South Carolinian ... blame the coastal areas.
Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head and Charleston basically said "we bring the money from tourists so we want priority!".
So to fund their request for roads and bridges... the state income tax sky rocketed.
