Mission: Impossible V will be hitting theaters ahead of schedule.
Variety reports that the Tom Cruise film had been planned for a Christmas release, but it's been instead moved up to July 31, 2015. That puts it ahead of the next James Bond movie, SPECTRE, and also lands it in the summer blockbuster slot occupied last year by Guardians of the Galaxy.
Paramount is also moving the animated movie Monster Trucks from May 29 to Christmas.
Christopher McQuarrie is directing M:I5. Ving Rhames will return for the sequel after a brief appearance in Ghost Protocol. Filming began in August in Vienna, Italy.
