Don't Miss The Next Amazing Sports Moment
"Mike Tyson solves mysteries in a van with an alcoholic pigeon" is the best show premise we've ever heard.
Scooby-Doo was great and all, but you know what would make Scooby-Doo better? If instead of that annoying Fred dude, the leader of the gang was Mike Tyson.
Luckily, somebody at Adult Swim agrees with me on this front (via IGN)
This trailer for "Mike Tyson Mysteries" debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, with Tyson rambling about his ridiculous new show. Via IGN:
Writer-EP Hugh Davidson teased some of the upcoming storylines. For example, in one episode, Cormack McCarthy gets writer's block and enlists Mike to help him finish his novel. Then, apropos of nothing, a chupacabra starts killing people, spurring the team into action. Another episode, Davidson continued, involves Mike going to IBM because someone needs his help, and the team spends a chunk of time looking for the person, only to find out the guy got trapped in a computer...
Quite frankly, we are HYPE about this show. Everybody realized Mike Tyson is the most amazing character in the world around the time he played a caricature of himself in "The Hangover." However, Mike Tyson simply for Mike Tyson's sake can sometimes be not-so-funny, for example, when he played the exact same caricature of himself in "The Hangover 2." But everything Adult Swim touches turns to gold, so we're not particularly worried about this, especially after hearing Tyson threaten to beat up "The Chimpakarma." Tyson's high-pitched lisp might be the perfect voice for a cartoon character, and Tyson's life is probably best in a cartoon, so, this will work.
