Bong Joon-ho (Okja, The Host, The Snowpiercer), the acclaimed South Korean director of the 2019 masterpiece Parasite, is currently prepping Warner’s thriller, Mickey 17, based on Edward Ashton’s upcoming novel Mickey7 (the film is spelled slightly differently with a “17”).
Mickey 17 stars Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Good Time), Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker), Mark Ruffalo (Windtalkers), Toni Collette (Hereditary) and Steven Yeun (Burning), via Deadline.
Edward Ashton’s high concept science fiction novel is being described as The Martian meets Dark Matter, in which Mickey7 (Pattinson), an “expendable”, refuses to let his replacement clone Mickey8 take his place (via Amazon).
